THE BEREAN BIBLE FELLOWSHIP
“And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and they searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:10-11)
The Berean Bible Fellowship is a community of Christians committed to experiencing the fullness of Jesus Christ and the Christian life through the study and practical application of the word of God (The Holy Bible) and through authentic Christ centered fellowship. We are not a church in the traditional sense of how one typically defines church in that there are no religious programs or man-centered agendas. Our desire is to simply follow Jesus Christ – The chief shepherd.
However, we are very much church in the biblical sense of the word in that Jesus Christ alone is the center of and is the sole purpose for our gathering together (Matthew 18:20). In other words we gather to experience the manifested presence of Jesus Christ through the various gifts and callings of each member of the body of Christ as imparted by the Holy Spirit to every believer as He will as it pleases Him (1 Corinthians 12:11, 18). As stated before, we are not program driven nor are we governed by man-made creeds, dogmas, or by-laws but rather we are led by the spirit and governed by the word of God (The Holy Bible) alone.
All Christians are welcome irrespective of church affiliation as long as they possess a sincere desire to intimately know, love, and follow Jesus Christ.
We are non-denominational and non-sectarian in our approach to the Holy Scriptures. As such there are no “pet doctrines”. We strive to avoid the all too common “we’re right everyone else is wrong, us against them, you must do it our way” approach that has contributed to much of the division within the body of Christ. Instead, we acknowledge that though the word of God is perfect and complete, our knowledge and understanding of the word of God is imperfect and incomplete (1 Corinthians 8:2; 13:9). Thus, like the Bereans in the book of Acts, we commit ourselves to receive the word with a readiness of mind, and to search the scriptures daily, whether those things are so.
